What Next?

Good news is Urho is continuing to improve, bad news is there is a new addition to the mudroom sheep hospital ward. As I pulled up the road today Woody attacked one of the lambs who had snuck through the fence. I started screaming at him and jumped out of the car. I though she was dead at first, but she was just in shock and bleeding badly. Nate came running, Woody saw Nate and hightailed INTO my car, across the front seats. Kohen was a wonderful helper to me as we tried to stop the bleeding on Ella's face. Did I mention it was Ella? Poor baby gets a name one day and almost dies the next. Right now she is in Urho's crate in the mudroom, awaiting a shot of penicillin and then I'll take her down to her mom in hopes that she will nurse.
Why would I think that today would be a normal day? I guess it is as normal as it gets around here! Nate thinks I should just write a book instead of a blog. The rate we are going we'll need some supplemental income to keep everyone thriving. Anyone in the market for a beautiful purebred german shepherd who is great with kids, knows basic commands, but not so great with lambs?
So the rate we are going we will have three sheep residing in the mudroom, and a german shepherd tied or locked in the kennel. To make things even better poor Scar's belly is just about dragging on the ground, so we are expecting her to lamb at anytime. Like I said, what's next? We could use some positive energy floating down this here river. Maybe it'll blow in with the next round of snow in the forecast for this weekend. I'll keep you posted. The one positive is I am much less emotional lately. It's hard to give injections, nurse a baby, stop the bleeding, or wrestle a three year old through tears. It makes you stronger right? Does stronger equal better? I can only hope so.
