- Milk a dead ewe to try and get enough colostrum to save her lamb. (It worked!)
- Watch Nate perform a c-section on a dying ewe to try and save her lamb (It didn't work.)
- Ask my son, "Where is your lamb?"
- Overhear my son asking his pet lamb, "Hey lamb, you want a ride?" In reference to the tobaggon he has creatively attached behind his trike and is pulling around the driveway. "No!" I answered for her.
- Have fourteen bags of sheep fleece stacked in my mudroom awaiting skirting, washing, and processing. Anyone interested in a project?
Who knew that a small flock of sheep could give you so much?

Here's a picture of my mornings accomplishment.
Now that the chickens are happy maybe I can get my house cleaned. The chicken coop was hanging over my head because I had begun to muck it out two weeks ago before the snowstorm. Better late than never I guess. A good coat of lime and pine shavings make for a much more pleasant smell. We are going to the Clinton Animal Swap tomorrow and hope to bring home some more chickens. We'll see what Grandma Butchy, Kohen and I can find! Kohen's request is a black Chicken Joe (the only rooster who ever had a name and met his demise after attacking Nate and myself one to many times.) Thankfully he can't tell the difference between a rooster and hen, so any black chicken will do.
