Urho Update

He's going to make it! We are much more optimistic. When the boys and I got home today Nate had Urho laying in the bit of green grass on the hill, and he was munching the grass! Still very weak, he can only stand for a few minutes, and Nate has to carry him in and out of his crate in the mud room, but he's here! Kohen was so excited to see Urho outside, he snuck up and whispered to him. (Loud voices scare sheep, we keep telling him.)

In other sheep news...we are still waiting for two ewes to lamb. I'm not certain the one we call Charlok "instigator" is pregnant, but her shed mate "Scar" (slip of the shears on her forehead) has a belly and udder that are growing daily. Nate and I will both be much more relaxed when she has the baby(ies) and everything is alright. I guess my optimism continues to waver with the luck we have been having lately. Hopefully Urho is our luck turn-around.

On another note, Isaiah has now made it through two days of daycare. He gets to stay home with daddy the rest of the week. Kohen was a good big brother and stopped in the infant room to check on his brother. Right now he's content in his bouncy seat watching me type. Kohen is watching his 30 minutes of "shows" before he heads to bed. Last night he went to bed well, and then about 45 minutes later we heard the television turn on in our bedroom. Nate and I looked at each other, but exhaustion won out to responsible parenting. When we went to bed two hours later, Kohen was sound asleep in the middle of our bed, with the Discovery channel on. At least it was educational! Tonight we were talking about favorite foods, and Kohen chose crab. Is it a coincidence that "Deadliest Catch" was on last night? Oh well, the satellite could have been on a worse channel.

Thankfully tomorrow is Wednesday. This weather is taking its toll on some of my students. I'm tired of hearing my phone ring for behavior problems. With all of the snowdays and state testing the schedule has been too out of routine for kids with autism spectrum disorders. Heck, it's rough on all of us. Hopefully the weather will turn around and routines will be reestablished. Wish me luck!

So on the light side, here is a picture of our ewe lamb that was born a month ago. She is a twin out of "Good Mama." She had remained nameless until yesterday. We've decided we would keep her and Anna for our flock (after losing four of the adult ewes.) So here is Miss Ella!
