Well, amazingly Urho made it through the night. I had prepared myself to find him dead this morning. Nate got up at 5:45, planning on letting me sleep in. "He's still breathing!" was quietly shouted upstairs a minute later. Like I'm going to be able to sleep now! Urho ate some grain and drank some water w/molasses for Nate.
The "No livestock in the house" rule is getting weaker. Last night we left the mudroom door open so that Urho would be warmer and not have to give so much energy to keeeping his body temperature up. We didn't even do that for Annafleece!
She still hasn't fully realized that there is another of her kind living in the mud room. Her eyes are only able to track that bottle full of milk. She starts maaing and "hoofing" (what would be the right word?) the door to her crate. Anna is now three weeks old, if our weather ever turns to spring she will be going back outside.
I'll keep you posted on Urho, but he's fighting hard to stay with us.
