What were you doing at 10pm? Watching the news, snuggled in bed? Running around in the dark being eaten alive by mosquitos, getting freaked out by the deer hissing at you from the edge of your lawn (even though your husband warned you)? All to bring a few minutes of joy and build some dendrites for a three year old? Nate brought Kohen outside to show him the fireflies, and then had to challenge mommy to catch some. Hey, I got three, I don't think that's too bad, is it? Kohen has now been carrying the jar around the house for the last twenty minutes. We had a short episode where one was loose in the dining room. (Stupid mom, trying to take a picture for her blog.) The jar has only been dropped once so far, and is still intact. Ok, better go get the firefly boy to bed.
Such a small, unassuming bug. That can light up the night!
