To raise my spirits...
-My boys- I was so frustrated with Koe yesterday, and today he has been an angel. The challenge of raising such a smart, challenging boy is worth every minute. As I tucked him in tonight and he asked for a second hug, he told me that he could see in the dark. "Wow, you're magic," I said. "No, I just eat a lot of carrots," was his no nonsense reply.
-My house- watching the mortgage foreclosure crisis on television, reading all of the foreclosures in the paper, and seeing individuals I know and neighbors, makes me thankful for this money trap. Yes, there is no end to how much money we will continue to pour into it, but it is ours. Our mortgage is the first bill to get paid each month. It is the fourth house I've owned, and by far my favorite (or will be when we get done!)
-My animals- as I was down doing chores tonight the sheep jockeyed for position around me. I sat down on the top of one of the shelters and some of my favorites came for a scratch- Fiona, Scar, Kizzy, and of course Annafleece. Smile makers they are. Listening to the donkeys, sheep, turkey, and ducks when I step out my door each morning is a sure smile cracker too.
-My job- though it is exhausting, and discouraging at times, it's a job. With all of the families struggling and losing their jobs, I'm thankful to have one.
-My spot in the country- Glorious.
