Faith, Friends, and Farm Animals

What a week! I CAN believe it has been over a week since I posted. Vacation bible school took place this past week, from 9-12 each day. It was great fun for Kohen, and Isaiah was spoiled in the nursery. Kohen learned about Jesus, and I learned that multiple three year olds are more challenging than a room full of special ed. students! I am feeling much compassion towards whomever is teaching kindergarten in Cook in two years! Kohen made a special co conspirator connection with Avery, the two of them share a devious steak! My dear friend Amber, whom I shared one year at Augustana with, drove up from the cities for the weekend. Her sons, Brody-4 and Cameron-2, were lucky enough to experience a bit of the crazy Briggs' family life. They also took some farm animals to the pet show. Ahhh, the pet show, a Timber Days tradition. We have pictures of me at about 8 years-old with Star, our goat, wearing flannel and jeans. Last year Kohen took three bantam roosters. This year, there was no question as to who would be the privileged, AnnaFleece. The Young boys had to choose between lambs, chickens, ducks, and kittens. Brody chose to take a bantam rooster, Cam chose to take Thomas the kitten. They all did a great job. Brody even worked magic and put the rooster to sleep. We then took some time to enjoy the food, games, and petting zoo.
Here's a great picture of the fearless foursome taking some downtime yesterday afternoon. Isaiah was doing his best to fit in with the 'big boys.'
