Nanny in the Pink Shirt

So say the title with a boston accent "shaawt" and you have Kohen's statement while eating dinner tonight. While having dinner Dad and Mom drove in, and headed down to where Dad is creating a garden. I noticed the truck, but was busy feeding Isaiah. The Kohen monologue went something like this. "Look Papa is here, and there's Nanny! Nanny in a pink shirt! I gotta go out there!" We don't see as much of Nanny as we would like, and it was a great surprise to both of us to see her tonight, a happy surprise. To make it even better she cleaned my atrociously dirty kitchen for me. (Think every available surface covered in dishes, and I have a big kitchen! So many dirty dishes you would be hard-pressed to find a clean fork if you wanted to eat those leftovers.) Right now the dishwasher is running and the only dishes on the counters are drying. Thanks mom! Sometimes when things get overwhelming it just takes the kindness of someone to initiate the tackling. I guess it would be a lot like how I would play defense on a football team. Don't count on me making the first grab, but I'll pile on with everyone else! Now all the cleaning that has been getting away from me as I juggle preschooler, toddler, end of year special ed. paperwork, autism class work, thirteen sheep, planting the garden, paying bills, and keeping the boys in clean underwear is not so overwhelming I want to crawl in my shell and hide from it.
Tomorrow is Friday, and the start of a three day weekend. Let us all hope it brings some warm weather, and good times with friends. Maybe even a few fish off the dock thrown in. Kohen has his St. Jude's trike-a-thon tomorrow, pray for no crashes. (He does have a helmet, how euphorian of me.) I should have more time to blog this weekend and post some updated pictures.
